EuroCalc is capable of converting a currency of your choice into Euro and all other currencies and calculating the VAT according to the chosen country. It respects the European regulation concering the rounding up and conversion procedures and updates its exchange rates directly from the Internet.
Integrated within EuroCalc is a price simulator, which demonstrates the impact of the conversion on your strategic values and helps you reposition them to maximum advantage. The conversation function has been integrated within Word and Excel. The EuroCalc package is completed by an interactive document base containing all the key information on the Euro; in particular the official database of the European Commission " QUEST *".

The EuroCalc Calculator
The calculator performs the four standard mathematical operations and supports the memory function. It can be operated using the mouse, the keyboard or the numeric keypad. Its 'three screen display' enables the immediate conversion of all currency towards an other using an intermediary currency (Euro or Dollar). The initial and the target currencies are selected from a menu listing relevant world currencies and a button allows you to quickly inverse the conversion sense. Its management of the number of decimal places used for the rounding up procedure is automatic and conforms to European Regulation. The lower section of the calculator displays the flags of each country, which represent the currencies available within EuroCalc. From this band you can insert or delete a currency and modify the parameters relative to the selected country (exchange rates in relation to the Euro or the Dollar, local time, VAT rates.)

Functions
The mode VAT
EuroCalc manages individual VAT rates for each country and displays the net, VAT and gross values, referencing the VAT rate used. It is equally possible to calculate VAT for a gross amount entered. The most common VAT rate used by each country have been predefined within EuroCalc (preview).
These rates can be modified manually at any time by the user.
The mode Simulation
Conversion into Euro is going to have a dramatic effect on your strategic price points. The simulation mode allows you to calculate or to adjust your amounts in all currencies to achieve a strategic value (strategic prices, salaries, price lists, registered capital…). The effect of the conversion on the initial sum (loss or gain) is expressed by EuroCalc as a value and a percentage.
The mode Difference
When an amount which was previously the subject of a conversion into Euro is re-converted into the original currency, we do not arrive at the initial sum because of the official rounding up procedure. EuroCalc displays the conversion discrepancies recorded for each operation and sums them using a totaliser.
The mode round-up
EuroCalc conforming to the European regulation (CE 1103 /97, JOCE NoL162 /1 of 19th June 1997), displays the values before they are rounded.
The mode Calendar
EuroCalc's calendar counts down the number of days before the year 2000 and the key events leading to the creation of European Monetary Union : 1st January 1999-, 1st January 2002 and 1st July 2002.
Integration within the desktop applications Word and Excel
The EuroCalc function has been integrated into Word and Excel allowing you to convert the selected fields or columns into a chosen currency, using a button placed in the superior menu bar of your application.
Within all your Windows applications, the clipboard link allows you to record the results from EuroCalc, in the currency of your choice. In addition EuroCalc can be called upon directly without quitting your current Windows application.
Updated Exchange Rates Via the Internet
EuroCalc updates regularly the exchange rates from the reference site euro-direct.com, or from a server to which you will be given the EuroCalc access path. Explore over 100 links dealing with Europe and the single currency. For those who are not already connected to the Internet, the exchange rates can be updated manually using the flag buttons displayed.
Interactive Document Base
EuroCalc contains all the key information on the Euro : historic, chronological, consumer issues, effect on specialist groups, companies…. Its interactive format allows you to quickly find the answers that you require and the official QUEST database has been donated by the European Commission, which enables you to pose your questions by e-mail or fax.
